Booz Allen Partners with CDC’s Center for Global Health to Bring Scientific Expertise to Developing Countries
McLean, VA – Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) announced today that it has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) by the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Center for Global Health (CGH). Booz Allen was one of five awardees of the BPA, which has a ceiling of $150,000,000, and will continue until July 14, 2020.
Booz Allen has a longstanding history of working with the CDC and its affiliated organizations to support US-funded global health programs. That support has taken multiple forms including capacity building through strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, training, program support services, and in-country technical assistance.
For this project in particular, Booz Allen will be offering technical assistance, scientific services, health analytics, and various program activities to various international government, community, and public health organizations. These collective efforts will help CDC’s Center for Global Health to more effectively and strategically monitor funds, improve outcomes from its grants portfolio, and support public health capacity building with its international partners.
Dr. Kevin Vigilante, Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton said, “CDC’s Center for Global Health has been at the forefront of the effort to improve public health and it is our privilege to support them in their mission. By combining our deep knowledge of management, technology, and scientific principles with their domain expertise in public health, we have a real opportunity to make a positive impact on the health of both the developing and developed worlds.”
To drive added benefit for the CDC and the Center for Global Health, Booz Allen has developed a cross-functional team made up of representatives from its own organization as well as FHI360, Amethyst Technologies, CB Strategists, Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
“This powerful combination of a public, private, and academic team is an example of Booz Allen’s innovation approach to bring added resources for the client, and also ensure that we have diversity in ideas and in our approach to problem solving,” added Dr. Vigilante.
